Happy Epiphany

January 7, 2010

Epiphany is one of my favourite Feasts. Yesterday I wearied my right arm blessing things, but loved it all – water, gold, frankincense, myrrh, chalk, as well, of course, as the normal Mass-blessings of bread and wine and the congregation. A blessed Day indeed.

And I believe you folks still keep the octave. Sadly, octaves are another cssualty of liturgical reform. Well, at least we kept the feast on the proper day with a procession and Solemn High Mass with more to come this Sunday.

    Happy Epiphanytide everyone!
